Help me train for the mile!!?
Question:I'm 11 and in fifth grade. I've never been a good runner. In fourth grade my best time for the mile was 9:57, pathetic, I know!!
I broke my foot a couple days before we were supposed to start our "3 mile sin 3 weeks" program, where we run one mile a week.
My foot is heeled and I'm starting PE again tomorrow, but next wwek, we run our last mile.
Our PE teacher Mr.K said that if we want to run it again to get a better time or to do a makeup we could, the wwek after that. So I basiclly have about 1 1/2 weeks to get into shape to run and low 9 minute mile. I need some tips! I'm trainging with my dad and running on the treadmill, but I need tips!!

You should just simply just jog the mile for the first two days or three days, and the pace you self when you jog that mile. Then the next week you should jog up hills to strengthen you legs. Also you should rest the day before you have to run the mile. Or you can simply just jog a different course every day. But make sure its at least a mile and a half. Also take it easy!! Don't over work your self or you might strain your self! Stretch before and after you run, so you won't get a cramp. Drink lots of water!!What's the positives and negatives to wearing a weight vest while running?
Just pace yourself.Dont just go out and try and do a 7minute mile or anything. Pace yourself and then slowly cut time off it.
i would start running as much as you can and streching and more running just to get in the hang of it
