How can I run faster?Im dreadful.?
I'm no expert or anything so the best I can suggest is to see a doctor as soon as you can. The pain (and the rumours) will hopefully subside sooner.don't run then nincompoop!

first run slowly then as you go on go on you can go faster...dont forget to streachThis happens to me quite often if I walk alot. I end up having to go to the chiropractor and it ends up being my hips are out of place and uneven and he has to pop them back into place. It feels wonderful.

Stop running! Sorry, I had to say that I couldn't help myself.Seriously, it sounds like you may have joints problems so I would take it easy. If you used to be overweight the chances are that you have put additional strain on your joints and ligaments so you need to try and do fewer impact excercises.
You need to see you doctor and you can get a health check. He may advise anti-inflamatories such as ibuprofen or similar, especially if this happens when you walk for long periods too. You could try food suppliments from a health food shop such as cod liver oil or other nutrients that help the suppleness of the joints and reduce with age.
If it hurts everytime you run as you said in the question, I would seriously stop running and do swimming or use a machine that allows you to tone, build muscle and burn fat but does not put additional tension on your joints.
If after being checked out at the doctors your joints are okay, you still need to build up slowly and not try and do things too quickly.
This is a case of more pain is NOT a gain.
Im only a freshman in HS, i run a 12 min 2mile do i have a chance of getting a full scholarship?
I'm a runner and have been running since I was 11 years old (now 25). I get this problem sometimes. There is a band of fibers attached to muscles and the hip on the side of the thigh called the IT Band. Until you actually start running, this thing never gives you problems. I've found that losening up this band by applying deap pressure all along this band helps eliminate knee and hip problems from running. I recommend a rolling oject like a tube that won't squish from the weight of a body. Lay on your side with the tube right above the knee. Roll the tube up on your body to the hip. This is painful but you feel like a million bucks afterward. This could also be caused by having bad shoes. You need to go to a real running store (not footlocker or famous footwear) where the people working there actually run. They watch you as you run and can tell what kind of shoe you need for your foot stroke. This is crucial in healthy running. Bad shoes cause all kinds of problems including knee and hip problems. Good luck!
