My shins/ankles get sore when I run?
Question:Is this because of my shoes, should I get a new pair? I've had them for a while, but I haven't run ALL that much in them.
And can anyone recommend good running shoes, how expensive are they? I have normal feet, so I don't need a special fit.
p.s. When my shins get sore it's not like shin splints, it's not that bad and doesn't last so long. Mostly it's just for 2-3 days rather than 2 weeks or whatever.

What is a good time to run a 100 meter dash in?
this is still probably shin splints. i know that most of my shin splints go away and don't even hurt the next mourning. here is a tip anyway. Two things
#1 try getting orthotics or arch supports. theese shoul help if the pain is in the lower back part of your ankle or on the bottom of your heel. i would recomend them anyway for any runner. the most important thingh you can do is take care of your feet.
#2 another thing i wolud do is try rapping a ace badage around your lower shin an around your foot. if this is shin splints a couple of days of that and ice will help tremendousl. if not it cuold possibly help your ankle to if its weak or something,
I had a simmilar prob. in the Army. I was running in court shoes and it tore me up.
New Balance has some good footwear and it's not to expensive.
It could still be shin splints. My shins used to hurt only when I ran, then after a couple of days it would fine, but would hurt the next time I ran. Look for the "Runner's Repair Manual" My boss runs marathoms and this is what he reads whenever he has running injuries. It has some good tips.
Is it possible to do better in track when its cold?
It might be that you're not getting enough arch support. I would go buy a pair of arch supporting insoles and see if they help before you go spend money on new shoes.Eating habits for athlete, HELP?

first go to a running store NOT A DICKS SPORTING GOODS store go to a running store where they are only focused on running not other sports they should help u get a good pair of shoes that u feel more comfortable with and make sure u stretch before and after u run it is more important to stretch after than before a run, because if u dont u are going to feel it in ur legs after the next day while ur running again, your legs will be stiff and thats probally ur problem make sure u get a good pair of running shoes and they can go from 50 to 100 70 or 80 is probally a good shoeMore Questions & Answers...
