Why do i get slow at the end of the season all the time?
I'm a freshamn in high school and im on the track team. In the beginning of the season i ran 2;30 which slowly and gradually decresaed slowly and reached around 2:21's and 2's. Once i hit this high point around 2 weeks ago, i started to drop again and im producing times like 2:23 and 2;24 while racing as hard as i did a couple of weeks ago, just still not improving. This happens every year, in all of my competitive sports. I just improve up until 2 weeks before the season ends, and then i just drop off. Can anybody tell me why, and what i can do to prevent this?

I'm assuming you run the 800. I think maybe you have exaustion, or you're just burned out and discouraged. The same thing happened to me. I had the best mile time ever in the beginning of the season, and wasn't ever able to PR. However, I tried reallllyyyy hard one meet, and stayed really positive, and tried not to worry, and I PRed. Just keep trying. maybe take a few days off and don't even think about running. Hope it works. Good luck!Who is the best runner in the world ?
its called fatigue, you just gotta strengthen your muscles more so they can last and run a little moreYour peaking too early! This happened to me years ago. I ran my best race in the league championships and then a week later I got crushed in the county championships. It has to do with your workout schedule. In running you tend to plateau for awhile before seeing a big improvement again.
2:21 that sounds like the 800 meter event. Are you doing negative splits? If not, try to run that way and see if you can improve your time. Good Luck!
