Recommendation for a running wrist watch with interval timer feature that keeps beeping for every xx seconds?

Question:Stop wrist-watch that has a setting that allows you to time yourself, but also set a "beep" to beep at a certain time. For example: I want to run 400m in 60 second intervals. So that I know I am on pace, I set a beep to go off every 30 seconds. That way if I get to the 200m before the beep i know i am doing well, if it beeps before that i have to go faster. Depending on the run, I may set it for 20s, 30s, 42.5s, etc.
Some watches automatically beep every minute, but I want to be able to set the beep.

What is the best weight training to prepare for a 10/k race?

The Timex Ironman has the functions you're looking for and only costs about $30. You can buy them at Target, K-mart, etc... If you have the $$ then I'd go with a Garmin Forerunner 201 or 301. It'll do everything you could ever dream on while running. pace, distance, time, ave pace. You can program it for intervals. There is even an option to run against a little figure and show you if you're on pace, too fast or too slow.

When I go running/jogging in the winter I wear tracksuit bottoms, a vest, trainers & gloves.?

Timex Iron man series...
has the functions you are looking for...Very easy to program/use...You can get them almost anywhere..they are very durable as well

What is a good time for the 400m?

I run with a Garmin 201. It's GPS (global positioning satellite) so it works on the track or on the trail. You can set it to automatically mark your lap times for you so you don't have to press any buttons to mark your lap. I usually run longer distances, so I have it mark my mile times.

You can also display multiple data points on one screen. I usually have it showing my total distance, current pace, and total time. You can also set it to show your average time which will let you know how you're doing as you describe above.

One other fun feature is the "Training Buddy". You can program it to a certain pace. Then it will show a picture of you and your Training Buddy. Your Buddy will run at the constant pace that you selected and you'll be able to see how far ahead of or behind that pace you are.

I use a Timex Ironman

What is the world record of 100meter in running & who is holding it?

I would have to agree with everyone who suggested the Timex Ironman. The watch is inexpensive, (I bought mine at Target) and has some great functions. The Garmin Forerunner 201 with the GPS is nice but be prepared to shell out some $$. I have heard that the GPS function doesn't work as well with lots of tree cover or near tall buildings. I also have a Nike Triax with a heart rate monitor and a pod that attaches to my shoe. This way I know my heart rate, my minute per mile pace and my distance. So far the distance calculation on the foot pod has been pretty accurate.

Good luck with your choice.
