My dad asked me today if a want to do a 5k tomorrow, and i havnt run since october, what can i do today?

Cross country running...?

Basically, don't overexert yourself. Lace up your shoes to see how they fit. Go for a short jog to get yourself loosened up and to work out any bugs in your set-up. That is, make sure your shorts aren't chafing and your shoes don't give you a blister. Stretch out a bit. Tomorrow, eat a light breakfast and stay relaxed - don 't show off!

I can run a quick 3 miles but why cant i run a quick 800m?

well freshman year i had never ran in junior high and first day of cross country she had me run 4 miles and it was not too bad. The first day running i felt actually better than the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on so I think you will do fine, it may not be too fast but you'll make it!! eat some pasta tonight to get some carbs nad don't run today so you won't be sore for tomoroow! :) GOOD LUCK

Same thing with me. I haven't run since my last cross country meet in October and I'm running in a 5k in a week. All you really should do is just go out and go on a long slow jog so that you can work up your stamina again a little bit. This way, tomorrow, you won't have trouble running the 3.1 miles.
