Running Technique?

Question:when ever i run , i find that i tend to use more of my left calf during the push off. It always ends up more sore then the right calf. It is also noticably leaner the right calf.

Any suggestions on how to change this problem ?

Walking shoes vs. running shoes?

do you always run around a running track or a field in the same direction? if so it might be a good idea to go the other way round. I would also visit a sports physio.

I have a bad cold but don't want to lose my running progress. What do I do?

Well the same thing happens to me
But my right calf does the push off

and so it seems that my right and calf are average(balance) in size...but my right calf is stronger..

My knee feels weak when i run. people have told me running's bad for your joints and im afraid i have weak...

As long as you aren't getting hurt, you probably don't want to mess with it. The perfect running stride is landing on the outside part of your heel and rolling toward the ball of your feet. But if that's not how your feet hit the ground and it still works, I think that's okay.

In track and field what is Mach A and Mach B drills and balistic stretc?

well, my right calf is for the push. Its been getting larger since i been hill training lately... My left is more for balance. My advice, get a coach.

Is this a good time for the 1000 for a freshman in college?

I say: leave it as is. You can seriously mess up your stride and footwork if you try to change it this late in the game. This is especially important if you do competitive running (i.e. marathons, track & field, cross-country), because you will need a long time to adjust to equal balance between your left and right calves and that can hurt your races.

If this is a really big problem, you can take small steps to balance your left and right legs by focusing on correcting this gradually during your runs. Anyway don't sweat it: This is the reason people in the this world are righties and lefties; it's kinda hard to find someone who's ambidextrous with both hands and feet, so you aren't really an exception.

By the way, I have the same problem as you kind of. I also tend to use more of my left calf during push-off. I don't really care though.

Are there in soles for running shoes? if so what are the best?

You may be dominate in your left calf, and will always be like that unless you correct it (i.e. starting on the right leg). THis may also mean that you are pressuring your left calf more by running more on that leg, which is an uneven running style, which could hurt your times and yourself.

Hi, i'm an American now living in Sweden and my question is how can an American find a job here.?

Do you always run on the same side of a road that is sloped? That could be a problem. If you are, even though it's against pedestrian safety, you need to sometimes run on the other side of the road. If you don't, you could eventually cause yourself to become injured.
