I think everyone should be forced to go to the gym, do you?

Question:Too many people sit around on there kahuna's all day...

I love running and if only it was mandatory to do 30 minutes every morning there would be a lot less pressure on the NHS...

I used to run to and from work everyday... 15 minutes each way for 3 years. Also played football with all the spare time we had after the work was all complete.

My experience is that every week that went past i could see dramatic changes in my respiration. My breathing was getting more fluent and controlled, my feet felt lighter and i did'nt have to stop for breath after a few months.

I see someone running and i just want to shout out ' RESPECT ' lol.

Answers:

How can i get faster in 2 months ?

oh good god ! I love going to the gym but if everyone had to go then how would manage to get on any machines, I like it when they're quiet.

I hate running though, I always fall off the running machines

Where can I find a public outdoor running track ?

yeah but sadly i live in the real world mate!!!

How long is one lap on a high school outdoor track?

umm no. unlike you ya freak not everyone likes to run around in circles!

Muscular and fast?

I wouldn't say "everyone"! But it would be best to try to persuade some people!

Dry throat during the 800m run?

I love to exercise as well however brisk walking is better for you than running. But that's my opinion, however i think the lazy fatties in this country should have to pay higher health premiums than you or I. =) good health to you

What kind of track spikes should I get?

Forced by who? The government. Absolutely not. By their spouse, probably. By the health insurance company (or their employer if providing health insurance), not a bad idea and some already do require it in some form.

What is a good time for a 100 meter dash?

Running is more than exercise its a way to clear the head, destress and enjoy the scenery. In today's paper it was saying that gardening is as good for you as the gym happy days I don't feel so bad now.

Why is jogging so hard?

You may like running that is no reason to assume everyone else should go the gym.I walk miles ever day & do not expect other people to do it.

Stomach problems while running?

definitely! or at least be made to do mandatory exercise before work... too many unhealthy lard asses

Whats the fastest way to get back in shape for running?

No, no adult be forced to do something he or she does not want to do.

It would be great if more people ate properly and exercised more, but most are too lazy and don't see what the future holds for them.

Let's hope they wake up soon.

Exercise/Running Clothes for Rainy Days?

I think everyone should be forced to go to the Pub and eat really unhealthy meals and smoke at least 60 cigs a day, do no exercise and then when everyone dies before 60 it will save a fortune for the Country in Pension payments. But I.m sure we would all be happier.be careful what you wish for...it may become Govt Policy under Dear Gordon.

I need help with track...?

No no no not the gym. But maybe a compulsory hour of an exercise of your choice everyday. But they would have to add an extra hour to each day to fit it in. Hm.

Do you have any rituals, or habits you do before you run?

I agree but sadly gyms are very expensive. I dont want to think the country will be getting obese like America

Help with selection.?

Old adage...You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Similarly, you could force everyone to the gym, but you can't make them work out to the point that would be helpful for them. Haven't you ever seen someone on an exercise bike or treadmill going so slowly that they haven't even broken a sweat? Sorry, you can't FORCE people to be healthy. They have to want it.

Will my friend beat me in a race?

No, Ithink everyone should be forced to eat chocolate ice cream everyday...

They should give it out for free..

Running? Or Machines?

I really don't think that is right. How about making every one eat raw Oysters or Ride a horse to work. You see we are not all the same, we have our likes and dislikes. You may like going to the gym. I think it smells. all of that sweat and stinky feet. Phew. You may like to eat fish where I may not. You see from my stand point YOUR rights end where MY rights begin. Some times what is good for the Goose just may NOT be good for the Gander

How long will it take me to prepare and run 1/2 marathon?

so what do u want for doing all the exercise u do ? a medal ? credit for being a health freak ?

people are allowed to live their lives in the way that they see fit (or unfit, as the case may be !) as for the whole NHS debate, i can just imagine how many more hip / knee / back injuries your so-called improvements would cause.. running is one of the worst sports u can do, it has massive impact on your joints. (i know, my sister was a health freak - she ended up in hospital with joint and cartilage problems)

exercise is good for u - i'm not arguing with that.. but i think that in your case it's become an obsession. u ever heard of moderation ?!?

by the way - how do u propose to make everyone to go to the gym ? who is going to pay for their membership fees ? and what about people like me who live in villages miles away from the nearest gym ?!? i think u need a reality check hon !

Is this really possible?

Lol. Sure, why not? If you're healthy enough, that is. lol. I could use a kick in the pants!

ALSO, GYMS SHOULD BE FREE!!! :D

I have a track problem?

B. people don't need to or
C. were toooo lazy

: )

Is it hard to get into High School Track?

Yeah lets all follow the example of jim fixx! Lets run every day and still die of a massive heart attack:P

Is running 5 km.?

I get up at 5:00 AM and do kickboxing for an hour in my basement - not a gym. At lunch hour I do 20 minutes of Pilates at home - not a gym. Throughout the day I ride 5 miles on my bike going to work, daycare and home. This is all done outside - not a gym. So should I be forced to go to a gym? I workout in a non-gym setting am I somehow not as in shape as someone that pays a monthly fee to go to a gym? What if I don't like working out in front of people and care not to get hit on or talked to while working out? No, I don't think people should be forced to go to a gym. If that works for you great but not all people that are in shape got that way by going to a gym. Forcing someone not in shape to workout doesn't work either, they have to WANT to do it.

What are the specific gloves worn by Marilson Gomes dos Santos, the Brasilian who won the N.Y. Marathon?

what about people who are disabled, before my accident at work, i played football twice a week, worked seven till six fives days a week and seven till twelve on a saturday and looked after two fairly big gardens, and now can hardly walk through no fault of my own. today people just dont think' before they speak.

Are any of you going to run the 2007 MIAMI MARATHON.?

Good call. I feel the same. I love running, and get really fed up of fat people complaining that it's their genes or something holding them back. *. It's laziness!

I'm not a beginner runner nor an intermediate runner somewhere in the middle -- I want to run a faster 5K.

Yes you talk sense. The idea of people running between home and workplace daily makes sense. I think those opposing this idea need to understand the present epedemic of unfitness and unhealthiness affecting the UK population dates back to the ending of compulsory National Service..

Ignoring the obvious practical problems, it would theroetically be in the best interests of everybody to bring back some element of compulsion to combat unfitness. This is because there is an established association today between high levels of aerobic exercise and low incidence of coronary artery disease? .Regular exercise has also been proved to lead to a reduction in your blood pressure. It increases the amount of high density lipoprotein in your blood, so protecting you against narrowing of arteries and so minimising the risk of heart attacks.

Regular vigorous exercise has also been found to relieve the symptoms of peripheral vascular disease and of certain psychological disorders like depression. So at the end of the day we would all benefit firstly in everybody being more healthy and this surely means happier? Also it would relieve pressure on the NHS which in theory means reducing the excessive costs on the economy in combatting unfitness in our population, which translates into lower taxes..

Who has made the world record in 100 m race?

Nobody should be FORCED, but I think people would be happier if they did. I run, but not 30 minutes a day, because I'm switching from a miler to a sprinter.

I need to get on a good running program?

I think that is a good idea but unfortunately people make their own choices. Unfortunately, obesity and problems caused from lack of excecise and poor nutrition are at a all time high. But schools try helping by pe classes. Schools could also offer more healthier choices like no coke machines and foods that dont resemble fast food places. But hey those of us who excecise daily and eat healthier, we see the benefits and are healthier and happier.

What do u drink before u run?

Because running can only be done at a gym and people can only lose weight at a gym and become fitter?

Take a ‘gym group’ and compete them against people who ‘exercise without a gym/outside’ and the outside bunch will be by far fitter because they can’t control the inclines, they don’t get a nice ‘smooth patch’ when they’re tired, they have to force themselves up that hill whether they feel they can or not.

Is it Recommented that when running 12 to 15km should bring a small wtr bottle which contain sports drink .. ?

This is the real world and you cannot force people to exercise. It could even put the NHS into more chaos due to injuries e.t.c. Interesting question though.
