How do I run faster? (Track meet tomorrow!)?
Question:I have a track meet tomorrow. I'm running 200 meters. Any little tips and techniques (such as pumping your arms, breathing through your nose) that would shave off a second or two?
What should I do in preparation for tomorrow? Chill out and sleep or practice some more?

What is the average 100 meter dash time for a 12 year old?
When you feel the lungs burning, you should enact a kick if you don;t already. Lift your knees up higher with each step and this will help you get over the last few meters where you're fading away. I usually breath through my mouth whenever I need a breath. Pumping your arms is very important, and should be done with your arms at right angles, obviously in time with your steps. But for the best time, don;t try anything new, just work with the things you already know and try new things during practice.the faster you pump your arms the faster your feet will move, but you should have already tried this prior to one day before your track meet, trying to conccentrate on something this close to race day may hinder your preformance. I would chill get pleny of rest and hydrate. set your mind that you are going to do it, visualize you crossing the finishline with a new PR...Good Luck
Ok keep your arms at 90 degrees. stay on your toes at a 10 degree body angle. sorry if the #s confuse you but 25.8 is good for a 7th grader
Imagine a pit bull is chasing you
Something a sprinting coach told me is to pump/move your arms from cheek to cheek. So when you run your arms should be outside your face and go back down by your gluts lol
tommorow focus on form. when you come out of the blocks, you want to continue leaning foreward, alot of people stand strait up when they come out, but you should be practically falling over. Gradualy become upright then pump your ams holding them at a right angle, your hand should pump all the way from your waist up to eye level.
And dont listen to the 25.8 time, thats a good time for a high school guy.
How do I improve my high jump for track?

Okay, shaving off a second for two is ALOT in a 200m race. That isn't going to just happen over night, unless you have a lot to improve on. What is your best time in the 200m?? Anyway, starting in 7th grade all the way until my senior year of high school (which was just last year) I'm pretty sure I ran the 200m every meet. It was kind of "My Race" ya know? Since the 200m is a shorter distance, the starts are crucial!! make sure you're comfortable in your blocks and just practice practice practice! when you're coming out of the blocks you want to stay low, don't just pop up right away. also, you want to make sure you explode out of the blocks, don't just step forward, stand up and run.you need to push yourself off...it'll give you that edge. I'm not sure how your 200m is going, but it should really be an all out sprint. If you aren't able to sprint it all out I suggest you try running some longer distances such as 400s and 600s, that'll give you more endurance and it'll make the 200 not seem as long. My advice is to stay calm, get a good start, and once you hit the straight away just go for it. Sprint like you've never spritned before and makes sure you run all the way through the finish line. Just because you see the finish line doesn't mean you can slow down...think as if you're running a 220m or something. Good Luck!Stay loose, stay hydrated. Try not to eat anything within four hours of your race. During the track meet, sip water every so often, stay in the shade as much as you can, stretch, and occasionally take a light jog for about a minute. By the time your race comes around, you'll be ready to go for a good time and win. Good luck!
knee up toe up and you'll go up. knee down toe down and you'll go down
