Does anybody know where I can find a training schedule for running a half marathon?
cool. good luck! i run the 800 (sometimes), 1600 and 3200. my advice is don't go out too fast in the 800 or you'll tire yourself out. if your meet starts at 4, it should probably end around 7-8. my track season is almost over. the region meet, for me, is thurs. i'm running the 1600 and 3200, then state qualifying, then the season's over for me. well, good luck tomorrow!!Is running better then bikeriding or vice versa??
A track meet would usually last from about 4-8 so be prepared, as it will get cold later on. I have a meet in two days as well, though it's not my first. I hope you do good :-)How long should it take to run one-fourth mile? How should you increase Stamina?
Ah the 800, I hate the pacing for that race so much! I run the 1600 and 3200 at my highschool, and I gotta say, I stay away from the 800. It usually goes from about 3-6-7 for me, so most likely 7-8.Make sure you drink enough so you're hydrated so you don't cramp. Also MAKE SURE YOU TIE YOUR SHOES well lmao.. After the meet, be happy, it's like hell for me.. cause the 3200 is usually last and I want to get home XD
How do you know if you have tendanitis ?
If you are trying to get out early from your track meet then sorry but track meets take a while (events, different heats, etc). As for your 800, The first lap is very important to get your spot in the race. Its easier to stay ahead of someone then it is to catch up with them. The 2nd and 3rd lap is going at a pretty fast and painful pace, I dont know how else to say it. The last 250 meters are again, extremely important. For the last 250 meters goes like this:For the first 50m, bring up your pace slowly
For the next 100m, you are nearly running at your max
For the last 100m, its all an out sprint that you must run fully, a common mistake among runners is to slow down right before they hit the finish line. Slowing down a couple of steps before the finish line can be your doom. I have actually won a couple of races by passing the person in the lead, a couple of steps before the finish line. Every other race, I won was by much more than a couple of steps, LOL.
How do I know this? Because I am a High School Track Star.
Good Luck on your 800
