Any tips on running the 400 meter dash?
If you've never run or jogged before, you want to start slowly. Your goal should be to just get out and get moving for 30 minutes at a time, at least 3 times a week. Even if you cant jog that entire time, you should walk and keep moving for 30 minutes.30 minutes is the minimum time for arobic activity like running, after that your body starts to burn fat, which is your goal.
as your body gets used to it, you can increase your pace and duration, and jog more than 3 times a week. you should try adding one long run on the weekends of an hour or more.
but listen to your body. stretch before and after you jog. drink lots of water. if you feel pain, stop! dont push too hard, a good jogging pace is one where you can still talk in a normal voice.
I am looking for 5 unconventional work outs to help me run faster?
runners are a particular breed.. if you don't love it then don't do it.. and don't try to force yourself to do it... i'm sick of everyone on here asking how they can get a crash course in running... go out and run.. if you don't like it... then walk... because you burn the same amount of calories per mile.. now if you love the thrill of taking a race out in 4:30 then go out and run and work for it even if you can only run a 7:30 mile right now... but shut up if you don't like running and want some easy regiment that will make it somewhat easy for you... mmmmmmm mmmm goodIs a 63.56 second 400meter dash good for an eigth grade girl?
Try the 10-week program below. It's best to adopt a program that introduces improvements gradually. These changes and improvements are easier to sustain and build upon. Best of luck!- Mike
