What is the distance that has to be run for an event to be called cross country?
Are there any specific rules that has to be followed thru for a cross country event? Off road? On road?
Answers:
I don't know if there are any rigid guidelines, but a high school XC race is typically across several different kinds of terrain, and goes for 5 kilometers. Also, an XC race in never just a road race.
In college, it's usually 8K or 10K.
I am beter at 400m but coach wants me to stick to 800m?
approx.50 mi..I don't think there is a distance spec. I think that for a race to be called "cross-country" it must take place off road. That's my understanding anyway.
Name the only man above Steve Cram on the British Junior all time list for the Mile?
I'm in high school cross country =D It's either 3 miles or a 5k depending on where you live and what races you attend. Major events are usually 5k, but Pacific League (if your in the so. cal area.) and other league meets are usually 3 miles =)Is there a place in Arkansas that makes and delivers varsity lettermen jackets?
There is no set distance for a run to be called cross country. As long as it is run on some kind of terrain, such as a golf course, trails, wooded areas, parks, and grass, it's considered a cross country event. Most of cross country is off road because it hurts your knees if you run on road for awhile...there are no specific rules other than start here, follow the course, and finish here...but in high school cross country the distance is 3.1 miles = a 5k..I middle school cross country the distance is 2 miles...the distance is longer in college, but I am not sure of the exact distance...hope this helps!
Im in high school cross country. Girls run 2 miles boys run 3...however in college it is more. My brother runs in college, but im not sure how long they run.
boys and girls in high school is a 5K. In college the men run a 8K, for the women it is a 6K.
There isn't really a set distance, but in a high school team it's 5k (3.1 mi.) And about the terrain, anything, depending on the course. I've ran courses with dirt, rock, and road.
