Track and Field Spikes? (running)?

I am interested in buying some middle-long distance track spikes but I am not sure which would suit me. I am a 16 year old male, train 5 times a week and compete at 800 and 1500 metres (occasionally 5000 metres). I compete at regional and national level and have narrow feet. How do the shoes on offer vary with their support, traction, cushioning and weight? Also which are the most popular middle-long distance spikes? Adidas, Nike or Asics?

Try Brooks also for mid-long distance
Nerve LD (40019)
This stylish spike is for the middle to long distance competitor who has the nerve to ask for the feel of a spint shoe with the cushioning of a distance shoe. The Nerve LD comes with 6mm pyramid spikes and wrench.

Z2 (40017)
The Z2 keeps distance runners on track and in style. It's a technologically advanced spike with well placement engineered to give better traction for the long haul. Ventilated to dry quickly and provide maximum breathability, it's ideal for negotiating the barricade hurdles of the 3,000-meter steeplechase and lapping the field in the 10,000 meters. Includes 6mm spike wrench.

What type of running shoes do you prefer?

I would deff. go with Asics only because they offer a variety of styles and comforts. many long and middle distance guys on my team go with asics for the tend to be more comfortable than other brands. Nike spikes are alright, they are better than addias though for middle distance.

In a 10 Km race, should I run the first half faster than the second or vice versa?

Usually spikes are only for short distances or sprinters not for long distance. If you are going to get spikes Asics are the best Nike doesn't really have a wide selection of spikes. If your running with a shoe thats really heavy then of course it will slow you down, so go for the shoes made out of mesh materials and other light weight materials. I add my own cushioning to my spikes beacuse after running a few events your feet really hurt.

How can you bounce back after a hard defeat?

Any of the major brands will work. Find out what fits your foot and feels best. A middle distance shoe will have a slight heel so you have some cushion. There is not going to be much support because track shoes are made to be light with minimal weight.
