Food to eat before running?
I am going to go run 3 miles at 5:00 today It is 2:30 right now i just ate some rice and a banana what should i eat?

I seem to run really well when I eat oatmeal about 1 or 2 hours before I run. Sure oatmeal is good for you, but I think it's more of a mental thing for me - because I run REALLY well when I eat oatmeal beforehand.

That should do it, you dont want to load up your stomach before going out. And 3 miles is too short to worry about depleting your glycogen stores anyway. Just make sure you drink plenty of water.Do not eat junk food like hamburgers, french fries, pizza...

it's really a matter of preference and what will work for you because everyone is different. eh? I eat a banana and granola bar a few hours before I run and definitely drink your WATER! I can't stress that enough. Usually carbohydrates give you a lot of energy, but make sure you eat early enough so you won't feel it digesting while you're running and cramp up.Could I get faster in running if I sprint with 8 pound weights in each arm?
carbs are great for running long distance. pasta and such you could eat more often at night or at lunch. another thing my track team does (which is so cute) is they have their parents bring baked potatoes for about a half hour before the race. of course this is competitive running not just getting in shape or whatever, but it works either way. btw this information came from my coach, meaning i think its reliable :)Pre-race nervousness, how do you cope?
