The first thing you do, especially on long runs/jogs/sprints, is making sure your hydrated. This means, though it sounds discusting(but is true) , your urine should be almost-to-clear. If its not, get fluid in ya!(dont gobble all the water in one day). Drink it for the next day(when you run), and also after.
This helps your body all together. With more fluids in your body, it will make it easier to pass oxygen. Also, your mouth wont get dry as fast.
The next thing is to breath with your body's tempo. Keep straight(but relaxed), make sure your arms sway down and go farther back than forward, and try to relax your body before you run. After you get used to that, start working on breathing a tempo similar to your body's when running. So you don't cramp up, try breathing slightly slower than its tempo.
To open your lung passages, don't eat anything sticky or gooey, like peanut butter. These things will "stick" in your thought and dry it out. Wait until afterward to use with rejuvenating.
Good luck on your life running journey, no matter where it takes you!
I have a bad cold but don't want to lose my running progress. What do I do?
what the person above me said is important, but I learned from my baseball coaches (and anatomy professor for that matter) that your brain gets more oxygen if you breathe in through your nose, and breathe out through your mouth...in through the nose, out through the mouth....Track and Field Training Vs. Cross Country Training.?
Humans want to look good, so they naturally want to suck in their stomachs. This limits your lung capacity. You need to breath with not just your chest, but all the way down to your diaphrahm. Also dont hug your arms to your body when you run and keep your shoulders relaxed. It is best to breathe with your nose if you can, this helps your throat not to get dry and tight. you should also be breathing in some kind of rhythm with your running.More Questions & Answers...
