Has anyone run in the Gel Nimbus 9?

How are they compared to the VII's and VIII's?

How do you condition during the summer for Cross-Country and Track and Field?

I personally ran in both the Nimbus VIII and Nimbus 9, but not the Nimbus VII. Aside from the look, I didn't see or feel any difference between the models. They both weigh the same, and many of the features, including the Solyte midsole material, are exactly the same.

However, I have heard from a few of my marathon training running buddies that they prefer the Nimbus VII over the newer models because they feel that the newer models are harder on their feet. They attribute their dissatisfaction with the newer models to the Solyte midsole in the newer models are supposed to be lighter while providing the same support. Most other people love the newer models and report no problems. I guess it just depends on how sensitive your feet are.

If you're planning on doing a lot of running (more than 15 miles or so at a time), then you may have to think carefully between choosing between the Nimbus VII and the newer models. Otherwise, I'm sure any of the above-mentioned models are perfectly good shoes for running.
