Who holds the record for the fastest mile ever run inside the old Boston Garden?

This question is asked a lot. Here is what I tell beginners.

To become a runner, you must get to the point where you can run 20 to 30 minutes at an easy pace without stopping. In addition, you must be be able to repeat this workout 4 times a week. From my experience, it typically takes about 8 weeks for a healthy, motivated individual to go from being a non runner to being a runner.

There are many plans that you can follow. An excellent beginners plan is on Runnersworld website. Here's the link.

Note, if the above link does not work, go to Runnersworld.com and search for running 101.

Basically, you start with a combination of walking and running. The total duration of the exercise is 20 to 30 minutes. Over the course of the 8 weeks, you slowly decrease the amount of walking and increase the amount of running. Eventually, you get to the point where you run 20 minutes without walking. The most important thing is to take it slowly so you do not get injured.

Hi iam 17 years old, iam a runner in high school, my legs are little fat,?

The treadmill will work great, but I always say , start walking first, then as you get stronger, start running. You can do a walk, run workout, and that will help you to break into full time running. Make sure you stretch before and after running, to keep those muscles loose, and make sure you keep yourself hydrated.

Are the air max 95's a running shoe?

Treadmills are the worst way, they make you sick to death of it after 5 mins, well they do me anyway. I do that some people like them though. Round a nice park or along a rivers best.

Yeah as above walk/runs good to start. You need to make sure you don't walk for too much though so say walk for 1min then run for as long as poss, even if thats only 10 secs then walk a min. Else it becomes to tempting to walk for a long time. After a while the run period will overtake the walking and you'll then be a runner!

Don't stretch too hard before a run, just loosen off, a quick walk around then a very light stretch will be fine. Or even starting off walking then building up faster so your muscles are warmed up and stretched out slowly would be fine, its just to warm up and loosen up. Save traditional hard static stretches for after you run.

How can i run faster?

start out walking a mile or 2 a day with a friend or alone, and jog for a bit too. Eventually you'll be running a lot :)
