Track meet tomorrow. I have to run the open 800m. HELP!?

Question:Hello.
I am a sophomore in highschool and I have a track meet tomorrow. I'll be running the open 800m. Since
this meet is an indoor one, one lap around the track is
only 200m. I was wondering if any of you had any
good techniques of running the 800m? Should I be going really fast the first lap around? The last lap?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

How do I get faster at the mile? I really sucked last year?

i can tell you right now
it is going to be hard to breath.
start out fast. about the same start for the 400.
then after about the 150 mark. get into a good pace.
just keep movin your arms & legs fast.
when you get to the 300 mark, go a little faster.
just a little. now when you have done your first 400,
& you are about to start your next one
you have to go faster.
about the speed of a 400 meter start.
now when you get your 500 mark,
get into that same pace.
fast arms and legs, going forward.
when you get to the 600 mark,
start to excelerate & by the
time that you are at the last 100
you should be going full speed.

Best way to display medals from running races?

the best way to run races of this distance and longer is to run consistent splits. i ran the 800 and 400 in high school if i knew your average times i could help you a little more and tell you what times to shoot for.

for now just find a pace thats fast yet not a sprint

What place did you get in your last cross country race?

well i run on the out door track i never ran on the indoor track but u should try a stay behind some one and draft on them. thats what i do and it works alot lol hope it helps

The guy at the front of the race..who drops out after a while, has he got a pace-maker?

What can I do if I want to start cross country or track, but don't have a large yard to practice running?

In my opinion, you should just go out fast as hell your first 200m becasue you won't feel it. Get out in an extremely fast 400m and just try to hold on with huge strides not trying to kick or anything, just try to maintain good form and maintain long stride lenght and keep the momentum of your speed and hang out that last 400m. My best 800 was when i went out in 56.2 and came home in 60.2

Triple Jump or Long Jump tips?

if you are more of a distance runner start off faster because it will be easier to maintain and you will be more likely to get a better place time. if you are more of a sprinter try and hold back for the first two laps, (400 meters on indoor track) and kill yourself on the last two you will have a greater kick because of the sprinting

Does anybody run in Brooks sneakers? What's your opinion?

Well because your inside you don't have to worry about weather so what I would do is this. First if you waterfall in you should take the outside and Sprint out of the gun. Then once you're ahead of everybody start to slow your pace down. After your 3rd lap because you're in a indoor track start to sprint again. That's what i would do and i ran a 800m in 2 minutes 15 seconds.
