How can i improve my mile time... and not knock over the high jump bar.?

If 800's are not your thing, then you most likely have more endurance than speed, which is good for the mile. *Add more details, such as your current mile time!* Try to go out hard, but don't go all out and use all of your energy. Lap 2, try to maintain your pace and move up in position. Lap 3 is the hardest lap, and if you can push yourself and keep yourself moving fast, you are going to do good. Lap 4, just run like crazy and pass as many people as possible. This is my favorite lap!

It is unusual for someone to run the mile and high jump. You time in any race depends on the training and your pace during the race. You must do mileage and also intervals to run at a faster pace. Doing repeat 400's at race pace will help, also you can do repeat 800's. As far as the high jump what most people do is jump into the bar rather than driving up and letting their momentum carry them over the bar. You have to convert your horizontal speed into vertical speed.

i run the mile and 800 meter plus long and high jump so i think i can help you. First of all what you can do in the mile and 800 is to take long steps and run at a constant speed if someone passes you don't worry let them pass you just don't fall too far behind that in the end you will not be able too catch up to them and in the high jump what you could do is (this might sound weird) but just squeeze your buttox in the air and that will atomatically give you an edge to bend your back even more and clear more height. if you need any more info just e-mail me at alang9539@yahoo.com hope that helps you
