Is drinking ice cold water/coke bad after a long run (10km)?
Most likely you are trying to run beyond your current ability.Given that you cannot run 5 minutes without stopping to walk you are not yet a runner. To become a runner, you must get to the point where you can run 20 to 30 minutes at an easy pace without stopping. In addition, you must be be able to repeat this workout 4 times a week. From my experience, it typically takes about 8 weeks for a healthy, motivated individual to go from being a non runner to being a runner.
There are many plans that you can follow. An excellent beginners plan is on Runnersworld website. Here's the link.

Note, if the above link does not work, go to Runnersworld.com and search for running 101.
Basically, you start with a combination of walking and running. The total duration of the exercise is 20 to 30 minutes. Over the course of the 8 weeks, you slowly decrease the amount of walking and increase the amount of running. Eventually, you get to the point where you run 20 minutes without walking. The most important thing is to take it slowly so you do not get injured.
Note, while your goal is to burn calories, it is very difficult to run if you are not eating enough. A calorie shortage may make you too tired to run and possibly expose you to injury. It will definitely increase the recovery time for a workout and significantly increase the time for you to become a runner.
I run the 400 meter sprint in 55 seconds i need to get 52 seconds, how?
why do you want to burn more calories if your a jockey and 5'1" and 105 you are at a perfect weight/height try this walk for a mile then next day walk two miles then on third day walk a mile regular then fast walk the second mile on the fourth day sxame thing on the fifth day fast walk one mile then 6th day fast walk two miles try that and let me know how you dou can join jm, may do yoga& one imp. thing is that yr mind is in fear that u can't run,it is like phobia, phyco. stress. if u r in school or collage then go to yr consultant teacher that can help better.
you're body is not used to running yet, it takes time to build up endurance.
just work on jogging a little longer each time, and you'll improve.
Do some people go running just to be seen running?
The easy answer is you are going to fast. Many new runners belive you have to go fast to get a benefit from running/jogging. Slow down and enjoy the view. I don't think being a jockey and 105lbs excludes you from enjoying the health benefits from a modeate workout. There are many good beginner programs that take you from walking to running in about 10 weeks. I can recommend buying John Stanton's Running Rooms Book on Running. I am part of the crew that teaches Learn to Run clinics at the Running room and we use this program to great success.
The premise of the program is to split your time by walking/running.
Couple of guidelines when starting, never run more then two days in a row. After all rome wasn't built in a day so why should your body. Buy a good pair of running shoes, I bet the horse you ride gets good equipment and treatment, so why shouldn't you.
Start your running on the first week, doing 1min of running and 2 mintes of walking up to twenty minutes.
Week two, 1:1 up to 20 minutes
Week three 2:1 up to 20 minutes
you get the picture
Good luck

some people just don't have a natural tenacity for running.

build endurance thru aerobic then anearobic activities training and practice running with timingthe power is on your legs muscles so do weight lifting with heavy weight according to what you can handle and eat right to perform too ...protein aftter work out and carb for energy brefore running and work out
What are some exercises to improve my starts in the 100 and 200 meter dash?
just because you're skinny doesn't mean you'll be a great runner. You have to start slowly. First go out walking fast. Then run for 3 min, but as soon as you feel yourself getting tired walk again. Be patient, it will take a while.More Questions & Answers...
