Sprinting Advice?
I am in track and i am a sprinter. i sprint the 100 meter, the 200 meter, and the 4x1 Relay. I am 4/10 of a second away from beating the school record for 100 meter and i am determined! Please help me if you know anything about sprinting and what i could do to beat the record. Thanks! :)

What are the names and websites of running..?
The most important part of the 100 is the start. You need to learn to come out of the blocks and accelerate, transition into top speed and hold that speed to the finish. Practice the start by coming out of the blocks and running 40-60 meters. Practice your form by doing 150's. Start at the top of the curve build up speed so you are going at top speed when you come off the curve. Stay relaxed and keep your form to the finish. Everyone starts to slow at the end and if you can stay relaxed and float you will not slow down as much as everyone else. You can not lower your time 4/10 of a second. That is about 4 strides at top speed. What you need to think about is taking off 1/10 at a time. No one gets better in huge chunks it takes little bites.Good brand of walking/running sneakers.?
try jogging for longer periods of time for a while and then add sprinting to the jog. to build up time. So when you do have to do that sprint you should beat it by 4 times moreGet a faster kick at the end of a race?
I also ran sprints on the track team in high school. My coach would have me do "wind" sprints. Over a week's time I would practice take-offs for one day. In other words, take off and run about 20 yds - over and over and over. Next day - do the same thing but run 40 yds. Next day - same thing - 50 yds. Etc., etc., until I built up to 100 yds. That was 35 years ago. I can't imagine things have changed that much in 35 years. The two most important parts of the race are the take-off and plaining out. And never, NEVER, quit sprinting until you're at least 5 yds past the finish line.okay try this in practice instead of running just 100m run 150m. this way in meets your getting faster when everyone else is just getting to there top speed and and that will allow you shatter the record
whatever you do dont listen to drivebywhore's answer you dont want to build up endurance that will make you lose speed wind sprints is a good idea. 4/10 of a second is a lot of time just so you know
