How to Avoid Running Cramps?
Answers:
How to choose which 5k/10k run to join?
Running cramps happen to everyone, including runners that are in great shape.Things You'll Need
1) Running shoes
2) Time for stretching
Instructions
STEP 1: The most important thing to do is stretch before and after each run. Make stretching part of your routine, so that you never forget to do it. Plan on spending 10 to 15 minutes before and 5 to 10 minutes after each run.
STEP 2: Make sure you stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water before you run. For longer runs, make sure you drink at regular intervals. It is best to drink before you feel thirsty.
STEP 3: While you run, make sure to take deep breaths to oxygenate your blood. Focus on inhaling and exhaling deeply.
STEP 4: Know your limits. Make sure you run within your ability. Gradually add more distance over time, otherwise you may subject your muscles to excess fatigue.

stretch before and after
stretch well, breathe properly (in through your nose, out through your mouth) and do not eat alot before going.
Prepare for running..a day before?
Plenty of fluids try to do some reasearch on what to drink for replacing electrolytes and those types of things that are losyt due to dehydration.yes finally...i cn use my experience..i do alot of running since i play badminton, tennis and soccer..my coach told me to stretch...before for 10 mins..then after completing your running..never drop down...stretch a little more..have alot of water a banana..or a protein shake..cuz after running..and not doing this lactic acid builds up and u get cramps...water help..also bananas cuz they hav potassium which helps break the lactic acid down..but do stretch after running..
Unlike what a previous poster said, do NOT breathe in through the nose, out thorugh the mouth. Breathe in with both, out with both. Stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking water, but don't drink very much water right before or during running, or eat right before running. Of course, stretch befor and after you run. If you begin to get a cramp, stretch your arms up and exhale deeply. Potassium (found in bananas) breaks down the lactic acid that builds up when you run, so make sure that you're getting enough potassium.
As a lot of people have said, make sure to stretch. Sometimes cramps come on because of drinking too much or eating too much before running. Be aware of how much you're consuming before runs.
If you have side cramps (most common) focus on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth- big deep breaths.
Sometimes you can run through cramps but a lot of times running through them makes it worse. If this is the case, stop, stretch, focus on your breathing and then start up slowly again.
Most running cramps are caused by a lack of water, or a lack of oxygen. You can avoid most cramps by drinking plenty of water and doing proper warm-ups. Warm-ups are a good way to take deep breaths and ease you body into the workout. If you start a workout without a warm-up you increase the chances of getting a muslce cramp or even a strain. Hope that helped.

keep running through them! thats what i did for the first couple weeks i started running and i ran with them and soon you don't get them!
take long strides, and deep breaths. this will put less stress on the tendon in your torso.
What's a way to stop me from looking down at the ground while running?
drink plenty of water, relax and stretch before and after. if you get cramp while running anyways...put pressure on the spot and as you breathe in press harder, and when exhaling relax the pressure. What are some good lower leg and foot stretches for runners?
besides all this lovely advice everyone else has been giving, my coach says to always exhale when your left foot strikes the ground. it was something about how your organs are placed in your body.More Questions & Answers...
