Is it possible to do better in track when its cold?
Well the first meet of the season i got a 23.0 on 110 hurdles and only 4 2 on high jump, and it was sunny and warm. Today when its cold and snowing, i got a 20.9 on 110 hurdles and 4 10 on high jump! Unfortunantly the meet was cancelled. Is it possible to do better when its cold?

I always feel that I do much better in colder weather. But I guess it depends on the person.Help me please?!?!?!?!?!? track?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Generally speaking, no, you can not do better in cold weather unless you are talking about distance running. You muscles are more relaxed and able to function when it is warm. That is why most sprinters train in warm weather parts of the world. Your muscles will not function well in very cold weather because the blood does not circulate as well near the surface of the skin in cold weather. Anybody who tells you that running in the cold is better must be crazy. Running in cool weather I could believe but in the cold no. You run an extremely high risk of pulling a muscle when running in the cold, no matter how much you warm up because you will cool down that much quicker. Is this a good training schedule for beginners (running)?
Hey I was actually at a meet today where it was frigid and cold, but at my last meet, it was blistering hot. We were sweating before our running shoes were even on our feet. I think you do better in the cold. It is miserable in extreme cold and heat, but if i had to pick between cold and heat, i would pick cold. When running in the heat, you feel so much more tired. You can feel dizzier, too. And, it is easier to become dehydrated. In the cold, the only thing that really sucks is how numb you can feel. At today's meet, I was thinking more clearly, and I ran better than at the other meet. So did some of my friends. I think that mentally, you believe you will do worse in cold, so you push yourself extra hard, and wind up doing even better. My friend ran a 6:50 mile on the hot day, and a 6:33 mile the cold day.no way cuase u have a hard time breathin durin winter
