What can i do if i get calf cramps a lot?

The 800 meters is soo fun! Just go out hard, but don't kill yourself. At 200 meters, get into a good solid position that you can improve later in the race. At lap two, start moving up your position, and don't save too much energy. At the final 200 meters, don't hold anything back and just go CRAZYY!!!! Pass as many people as possible. I use this strategy and I can run 2:24, but I am a girl so it's good! lol

And you might want to start out by going out in a 64 and see what happens. If you do great, then consider going out faster next race.

I hope this helps!

Who's the best runner in the world?

I am in track and run the mile if i would run the 800 i would start out 2 steps behind the leader and then the last 150 meters i would take over the race.

Why do I get shaky after I run?

start out fast. about the same start for the 400.
then after about the 150 mark. get into a good pace.
just keep movin your arms & legs fast.
when you get to the 300 mark, go a little faster.
just a little. now when you have done your first 400,
& you are about to start your next one
you have to go faster.
about the speed of a 400 meter start.
now when you get your 500 mark,
get into that same pace.
fast arms and legs, going forward.
when you get to the 600 mark,
start to excelerate & by the
time that you are at the last 100
you should be going full speed.

800 meter tips and breathing techniques?

I recommend accellerating though the first curve. You want to get in good position to move to the curb. When you hit the back straight, you should be running at your target pace. Try to maintain that effort through 600m. After that it's work, you have to concentrate on keeping your form together through the last turn and straight.

Going out in 60 might be a bit fast if your target is 2:07. I would recommend something more like 62 for the first lap.
I know runners who would try to go out in 64 and come back in 63. It depends on your style.

For workouts, I recommend running 600's at least once a week. Run one the way you would run the first 600 of your race. Then jog 800-1200 and run another one. This workout will get you strong.

Is 16:50 a good time for two miles? (im in track)?

As a DI college track athelte who does run the 800 a lot I can tell you that the biggest problem is the way you race your 800m. If you are planning to go through in 60 sec at 400 then your goal should be 2:02 ish. If you want to ran a 2:07 relax a bit on the first lap and run a 62 or 63 as the best way to run a race is even splits
