What mile time would it take to get a track scholarship to a university like texas, unc or maryland?
4? 4:15? 4:30? and would it be full rideor partial scoholarship?
Answers:
There are many High Schoolers running under 4 min. so I would set that for my goal, and WORK!! The best work outs for that fast a mile would be a LOT of 1/4 mi. intervals at 4 min. each at least every other day, with one long, easy run each week of perhaps 10 to 15 mi. The 4 min. mi is no easy goal. If you can find the movie "Four Min. Mile, Micheal Landon's (Something) with Destiny" I think it might be "Rendezvous" but I'm not sure. There is a TON of great training ideas in it! Cheers, and good luck!!
Improving breathing, water intake...for running?
University of North Carolina's track team's best times this year in the mile ranged from 4:16 to 4:37University of Maryland's track team's best times this year in the mile ranged from 4:17 to 4:44.
I could not find the records for University of Texas on their website.
I imagine that only the top athletes on the team has a full scholarship, and the awards must depend on the available funds by year and such. Still, it would be hard not to give you a strong look if you can get your time to 4:20 or better. Good luck.
I think 4:20 might, but you may have get under even a 4:10.
I need some tips on how to increase my sprinting speed in football?
full scholarships for track are few and far between, but partials are always out there.anything under a 4:20 at a state meet will attract notice.
What is world record time for running a mile?
Since the NCAA has limited track scholarships to 16, there are very few full rides. Partials are available. 4:15 is a very respectable time. Send your results to the coaches. Have your H.S. coach talk to them. They have to know you are a good student so they will not be wasting their scholarship on someone who will not be eligible.More Questions & Answers...
