I run track also, and trust me, you WANT the butt aches. Being sore tells you that you're making progress. Keep working just as hard, and after probably 3 or 4 days you wont get the butt aches. I personally like the soreness after a workout. One time, I had to go down the stairs on my butt because my legs were so sore the morning after our first distance workout of the season. Just make sure to stretch alot and drink lots of fluids. Oh, you should also run a slow cool down to work out the lactic acid. It hardens in your muscles, causing soreness. Distance Runner. I know. uhh.that's.really nice to know.but i think if you stretch before and after practices your glutius maximus will be sore no more.

Not sure if you want to avoid that. Muscle soreness post exercise/training sessions is actually a good thing. It's how the body tells you your muscles are injured and are being repaired/made stronger. Eating right during this period will help the healing/muscle building process.So if the soles of your shoes indicate wear/tear on the outside corner or your heel...?
it is normal for that to be happen. your body probably aren't used to the workouts if you haven't done it before. just rest and you'll be back to normal.Jogging: should I increase my speed or distance?

To prevent it from happening again, stretch your booty by squeezing your glutes before and after.

Make SURE you cool down well! It helps you from being as sore, and even though you might be super tired, and don't want to cool down- trust me, you'll thank yourself when your not as sore the next couple of days!!!
