How fast of 1600m time would I have to run to get a scholarship to a DII or DI school for track?

I ran a 4:32 as a junior and have just satrted my senior year of track, wondering what kind of times to shoot for.

At 5:00 today I will run 3 miles any advice?

You probably need to drop about 7 seconds and get down to 4:25 to get a Books and Tutition scholarship at a D-II school. Never try for D-II though... if you are serious about running you want D-I obviously. You need to get down to about 4:15 to run the mile at a D-1 school. but might not get a scholarship with that. You need to be at 4:10 for a D-1 scholarship most of the time. If you run 3 mile time trials 2 times a week you should see an improvement in your mile time. You are already in shape so for for 16:30 on your time trials. Keep on running and get to state... win a state title and D-II will be full ride, D-I should offer Books and Tutition at least.

Ohhh man i'm in MAJOR trpuble with my track meet tomorrow !! HELP!?

Depends on where you are from, but you better be running around 4:15 if you want a scholarship. I know of a kid who almost broke 9 minutes in the two mile as a senior and he didn't even get a full ride. While you certainly run a good time, and you could probably walk on at a scholarship school, you still have some time to drop if you don't want to pay for school.

It never hurts to contact the coach at any school you are interested in either. Sometimes they might consider you if you show a lot of interest.

Dose Anyone know what type of spikes Jeremy Wariner runs with?

Track scholarships are hard to come by... trust me. Odds are even if you run really well you will not get a full scholarship, unless you are a state champion. The distance events are the most competitive of all, because their athletes are almost exclusively runners. However, this usually means they are more heavily recruited.

If you can make state, and talk to the coach, you never know what can happen.

Track and running?

Check out www.dyestat.com for any data on top high school track performance data.

A time of 4:15 to 4:16 would have put you in the top 100 times based on results in the 2006 outdoor season.

A time in the 4:15 neighborhood would give you a shot at scholarship.
