Who is the best snooker player in the world??
If on the first shot ''AFTER '' the break player 1 pockets a stripe then he has stripes. He doesn't have to pocket another one to determine that.If player 1 pockets a stripe ''ON'' the break then the table is still open , under bca rules. Always check the rules before you play because they do vary from league to league or place to place.

I want the backdoor to fluke pool room and it wont let me in?
I assume that you're talking about 8-ball. It doesn't matter what gets pocketed on the break shot. The table is always open after the break. The breaker could pocket a stripe on the break, and then decide to shoot for a solid if they choose. Suits are not determined until a player pockets a called ball. Now, if the breaker shoots for a solid and misses, the table is still open for the opponent. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.More Questions & Answers...
