A110 Buck Knife does it for me,but not to cloes you still have to prepair stick for new tip!with sanding wheel and holder if your fishing pole(aka q stick) is a quality one find a pro $20-$25 most places
no biggie but shaping a new tip is trickey

they are usually put on with super glue which is dissolvable with acetone or nail polish remover... be careful of the acetone on the wood finish on the cue... it will dissolve that too...

I hope you shot pool better than you write poetry.
The tip is glued on so where the tip and the wood meet just take a knife blade and place it between the two and gently hit down on the knife with a small hammer. It should come off fairly easily.
