because we are facing all challenges not only in billiards but any sports were ready for all because were 100%pinoybecause in the Philippines, we're too vertically challenged to really be good at Basketball, There's no space for us to put soccer fields, etc.
While you can find a bar with a billiard table almost anywhere :D
What is the best way to learn how to play pool; from a teacher or by oneself with a book?
Simple, economic & religious reason. Majority of Filipinos are catholics, so contraceptives are out of the question. The result, too many kids to feed and of course, most of them won't be able to go to school, some at minor ages are forced to work right away to help with the family so the rest who have nothing to do, where else would he go? He or she will join the rest of those bums and just hang out to any cheap or free place where there's a pool/billiard to play with and tadaahh, you got a lot of discovered and still undiscovered future "Batas".mabuhay ang mga filipino! because of the exposure on the different billiard tables on every corner which they enhance their talent and because of the dream that someday they will help their family to rose against poverty.. mabuhay alcano the "volcano" from calamba laguna, philippines

because it is one of the most popular sport in the philippines plus the fact that it is so affordable.Why are most basketball players black?.the only game in town is that and a way out for many.same in the Philippines...probably puts food on the table for some and the only game in town!!
