He still does. In his prime he would wipe them off the scoreboard. He still can. Trouble is he doesn't have the hunger or the need for it anymore. He still has the skill but marriage and children are more important to him now. Same goes for Stephen Hendry and others.
Definately, cos he's competing against them now... I think steve's still in the top 16.
Steve Davis was a marvel to watch... not a fast player, but a good solid potter.
The match ups would be interesting, I'd have to say at their PEAK, between O'sullivan and Davis, i'd give it ronnie, simply because he can make everything look so effortless and play at a pace which might rock steve, ronnie would get 3-4 frame on the board before steve started warming up his cueing.

without a doubtSteve [interesting] Davis is a bit more adventuress now, so yes if he could go back 15 years being more interesting, he would win.

How do you hit the white ball in the game pool?
Of cause in his prime he was the most feared player on the circuit. That mentality is still there even today and the most important thing is he still enjoys it. He is still the master NuggetLets try this again what is a push shot?
Thats tough. Steve Davis was a great champion. Though in those days the game was far slower and more time to take your shots as was the case with the final against Dennis Taylor. I think its a struggle to compare Steve to the players of this generation. Guys like Ronnie O'Sullivan & Mark Williams have raised the bar, Ronnie seems to blow anyone away when he decides to play and with Mark Williams well I don't think there is a better single ball potter. Steve Davis was a worthy champion and a legend but the baton has been taken by the next generation - O'sullivan and WilliamsWho made the first century break of snooker in the history?
