Earlier this year a friend of mine died of cancer. She was 31. We had been at college together, and even though I knew how seriously ill she was, I just never believed she would die. It didn't seem fair or possible for someone of her age. At the end of the day, some children die from cancer and other diseases at much earlier ages, and at least my friend grew up, and enjoyed her life.
Paul Hunter achieved more in 27 years than most of us will if we live to be 80. Its a terrible shame, but good for him for making the most of the time he had.
Which is the best que to play snooker?
he died? from wat !! i neva knew datWhy can't i get on to shoot yahoo pool?
It was a shame it just goes to show that no matter how much talent/money you have when your time is up it is up R.I.P. PAUL XXXXXXXXXXXHow to shoot the ball in pool?
I was devastated.Who's Paul Hunter?Who do you think will win France or Italy?
No more shocked than anybody else who dies of cancer. It is a tradjedy whenever it happens, to anyone. The fact that he was talented, handsome and famous shouldnt really factor into it. He was human.Could grass grow through the liner of my pool?
It came as a total shock to me as I had no idea he was ill. I remember watching him in one tournament and thought to myself, what a terrific player. The speed he used made me think of Alex Higgins. How ironic that the day Paul Hunter died Alex was competing in the Irish Open as a wild card entrant despite being told years ago that he had cancer and not expected to survive it. Glad he did though. If you are interested there is a memorial site which is www.gonetoosoon.co.uk that has got a page on there dedicated to PH.I didn't know until I read your question - it is a shock. It's always shocking when someone famous dies - it reminds us how transient and fragile human life is.
There was a lovely tribute to him on TV this lunchtime. Have to admit that I am not a snooker fan but my Mum was in tears whilst watching it. Goes to show that cancer can affect anyone. Makes you think about your own life when it happens to someone so young though who had just started his life with his new family, what a shame that his daughter will never know her Daddy. My heart goes out to them.
I think it was terrible news - I didnt even realise he was ill. A definate loss to the game.
In 9ine ball, why must 3 balls hit the rail in the break?
I agree. In this world where you become desensitised to news, this really did shock me.
I didn't think young people died of cancer!
