yep it did me i thought hed been cured for a while for some reason yes definately a shame pretty sad really he was a good player and seemed like a very nice bloke feel for his familly he was only 27.wouldnt say it puts things into perspective i mean you only gota look at a mentally disabled person to realise how lucky we are .yes very much so, but there again every death you read in the paper is. he was only a year older than by bro, had a young family (daugher born boxing day last year... not even a year old)

Yes. I read in the paper this morning that he was near the end and then when I put the computer on I read on yahoo news that he had died. We haven't really heard much about him for the last few months and I had assumed that he was on the mend.
My thoughts are with his wife, daughter and the rest of his family. I find it really sad that his little girl will never know her daddy. I am sure his family will make sure she knows what a nice man he was and that he loved her very much.

I never knew him, but i lost my dad to cancer two years ago and it was devastating to see.When i saw Paul Hunter in his prime of life on TV i felt really sad.

Definately a shocker. He was only 27, so young. Some say that he would've been a future world champion. A tragic loss...I was absolutely shocked.I didn't know he had cancer,it is incredible... life could be so cruel and unfair and death can take away people of such a young age!
But, you know,the best thing we could do is REMEMBER and pray, if we can.
I've read that once he said that he could play even on his death's bed:THIS is courage,this is a life lived with a purpose, a passion(snooker) that even death cannot stop.
that is what we will remember him for.

And this is even though I had no personal connection with him and given that other famous people die regularly and that has little impact on me...
It was for two reasons I think.
1. He was so young..with family and everything in front of him...and being older than him I guess it makes us all realise that our time could be up a lot quicker than we expect.
2. It really isn't that long ago that he was playing...the World Champs in April I think...and I agree that most people I think thought that he would come through it when in fact the reality of what he actually had I think made this an impossibility.
So he he carried on knowing that his time was nigh I suspect.very sad, especially with a young wife and child being left behind.
I wish them all well.

Yes. It is absolutely tragic. He must have been a fabulous man as his fellow professionals all speak so highly of him. It seems so unfair especially when his little girl is not even one yet. I read today that his wife said he was so brave right to the end and even the nurses loved him and his smile. It certainly puts things into perspective. My wife is recovering from breast cancer and has every chance of having beaten it. I am lucky. It is such a nice gesture that they are thinking about changing the name of the Masters tournament to the Paul Hunter Memorial tournament. This would be a lasting tribute to a brave man who even in his short life gave so much pleasure to a lot of people. God bless you Paul.What is the diff b/w Snooker,Pool and Billiards??
