A question about rules in tournament billiards play?

Question:I realize that this scenario is highly unlikely, but it popped into my head today and I just wondered if anyone knew...

What would happen if, in the middle of a tournament match, one of the players miscued badly enough to damage the felt?

Would the game have to continue on the compromised table? Would that player automatically lose? Would the match have to be replayed from the start?

Answers:

How do i shoot at pool?how do i make the cue ball go?

No it would not be a loss
It would be an equipment issue the game or rack would start over not the entire match the play would would go to another table but the score so far would not change and the match would cont.
