What kind of cue is best for playing pool not snooker?

How i can play pool?

the proper cue is the one that feels best in your hand. The balance, texture of the handle ( wrap or non-wrap),shaft taper and diameter and playability (type of hit). There is no one best cue although the one that seems to be liked by many players is a Southwest cue & no i do not own a Southwest. Ask many local pool players if you can hit with their cue to see which one you like.
