How can I put back spin on the ball?
My buddy, eightbraker, makes some great points. At least one snooker and one carom table would be good to have. There should be several TV's playing pool-related videos, maybe some tournament footage, instructional videos, trick shots, etc. There should be pool posters, photos and other memorabilia on the walls. I love it when the owners of a pool hall show that they have respect and passion for game by showing some old images of the great players of the past and present. Full bar, with essential bar food, but no main course meals. A pro shop would be nice, but more for accessories, like extra chalk, tip tools, scuffers, gloves (if you're into that), books, magazines. I don't think the pro shop needs to be a cue supplier or repair center. I think billiard retail stores should cover that. Cues, cases, balls, and all of the bigger things should be handled by retail stores. It should be open very late. You did say "ideal". I know there are bar times, but I never go to bed that early. Top of the line pool tables of all sizes. Official size snooker and billiard tables. Comfortable seating and soft lighting that doesn't glare in your eyes. Plenty of room around the tables. A jukebox that doesn't blow out your eardrums and provides a wide variety of musical styles. A small bar with beer , soda and snacks. No hard liquor.
