Actually you don't use putty , you use a sealing wax that you heat up . Just go to refelting.com and they will show you exactly how to do this and anything else you want to do involving a pool table. Good luck to ya!Should I pay an extra £100 for a 7ft pool table or is a 6ft table good enough?
You should get a spackle or gypsum board joint compound, available at any hardware store. Look near the painting supplies for a pre-mixed pint sized plastic container. Ask a salesperson or find the type that says non-shrink, resists cracking. Make sure it is dry and level before placing the felt. If it 'dimples' when it is dry, you'll want to recoat to get flush. What do you think , why do filipinos keep on dominating pool/billiard world?

i don't recommend putty. You melt bees wax in the holes, let it cool then use a flat blade to scrape off the excess. you might have to heat it up a little b4 scraping or it wont come off evenly. repeat till nice and smooth.Dental Plaster used to be the seam filler of choice for a Table Mechanic. You could probably get some from a Medical Supply store. I once saw Bondo(the stuff for filling dents on cars) used for the job.
