Does anyone have any recommendations for a billiards instructional video?

I have been looking on the Net and there are jillions of them. Kinda had my eye on Jerry Briesath's "How to Play Pool Right". I can afford to buy one, but don't want to buy hundreds of them if they are above me or below me. I noticed that this one is the only one endorsed by the BCA (is that worth anything?). I need to polish my technique and develop some good practice shots. Talentwise..I used to be able to run the table occasionally in 8 or 9 ball, but not very often. I was "decent" but not going to win any leagues or serious play. I don't want a video that says, "OK, here is the table, there are 15 balls, this is an 18 oz cue, this is a 21 oz cue.." Need something of substance. I have read Byrne's 2 main books many times and understand the physics of pool. Yes, I would love to have a person-to-person lesson(s), but I have 2 small kids, run a large ranch, and live in the middle of nowhere Kansas about 100 miles from a major town. This is the most I can do.

Snooker Loopy any tips on improving my game?

If you hadn't mentioned it already, I was going to suggest Jerry Briesath's "How to Play Pool Right". Jerry is a BCA Master Instructor, 1 of 9 in the world today. I've talked to Jerry (we're both from WI) before and I work with another BCA Master Instructor, Bob Radford (who's also from Kansas) and his wife Linda who will soon become a BCA Master Instructor. BCA endorsement does hold a lot of weight. The curriculum isn't set by the BCA, but the main teachings remain consistent. I agree with about 95% of everything that Jerry teaches in his video. You know, people travel from all over the world to attend Bob Radford's class in Rockford, IL. Otherwise, there's another BCA training academy in Dallas, TX. Maybe you should make a little vacation out of it. We get students from California, Florida, New York, etc. I know it can be difficult to get away. Check out the websites that I'm going to list, for some ideas. Best of luck. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

Go to "Bert Kinister.com"..and for someone just starting to get serious about it ...I recommend the "60 Minute Workout"..almost every shot in the video comes up for you in a match.then he has several other tapes that help.the "advanced 60 minute work out is also great..good luck on the tour!!
