I absolutely love bank shots. They are one of the hardest and unpredictable shots of the game though. I consider myself good at banking, but have been practicing it for a long time. All you can do is practice really. You have to get a feel for them. How you execute the shot all depends on the angle of the cueball to the object ball. Each bank shot is different. So where to hit the object ball, what english to hit it with, and what speed will almost always be different. To practice my bank shots I just shoot a rack of nineball(or eightball) while banking each ball in a pocket. Running a rack like this can sometimes take forever! ha,ha. I think the benefit is worth it though. Well good luck to you and hope that I helped with your question.Use the diamond markers. Try random cue placement, and work on using different english while aiming for the same diamond from the same spot several times. It will give you a better understanding of what to expect from the ball. This will help you get to a point where you can predict the ball's behavior simply by eyeing it. Try setting up multi-rail shots, too.

use mirrors that you can place on the little spaces under the rails, i saw a commercial before that sold them.. by placing the mirrors, you see the angle to the hole or to the ball that you want to shoot for..
