Haw do tell how thick the slate is on a pool table?

i have a pool table and want to know how thick the slate is without dismantleing it. =I know it either 3/4 7/8 or 1 inch but is it just done with a ruler at the poket how do u tell

When playing pool ,any game I loose ,20 points get deducted,but when I win only 10 points are added to my scor

1. Measure thickness at pocket
2. Go underneath table and examine the borders of the slate. If your slate is backed with a wood border (quality tables are) you'll need to subtract the thickness of th wood border from your orignial measurement.
