How is the rating going in pool,who is the #1 player?

I am arranging a pool tournament knockout only can someone suggest a format could use?

There is no single rating system in place for professional pool that is worth much IMO. There are many different lists of standings from around the world, but many of them don't represent a very fair evaluation.

The UPA for instance has a standings list, but palyers only accumulate points for tournaments that they sanction. The Eurotour also works the same way. The WPC chooses the top 128 by allowing a predetermined amount of palyers form certain countries. BilliardsDigest power index tries to rank palyers more fairly but also falls short. I included a link to their system, since I think it has some valid points.

Until there is a recognized pro tour that includes all the top players, it will always be tough to have an accurate ranking system.
