The 8 ball is my last ball on the table. Do i lose if I pocket the opponent's ball instead?
Do i lose if the cueball hits the 8, but also sinks one of the opponent's ball? The 8 and the cueball still remain on the table.

How many times will a ball rebound off a four pocket pool table before being pocketed?
This is actually a legal shot. Since you contacted the 8 ball first, you have not committed a foul. Your turn simply ends with balls in position. Incidentally, the term "scratch" comes from back in the day when people kept score using chalkboards and when someone committed a foul, they would "scratch" one point off of their total score. So the word refers to any type of foul, not simply pocketing the cue ball. However, if you foul while shooting for the 8 ball, it is not loss of game if the 8 ball remains on the table, your opponent gets cue ball in hand. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.P.S. Mickey Mantle makes a very good suggestion. He has a good understanding of safety play and using intentional fouls.

Whats the best way to level a pool table,i want it spot on?
The easiest way to remember is if you scratch during at the last ball then you lost the game. since you just lost your turn by pocketing your opponent's ball and missing the 8 ball, (no free ball on your opponent's next shot). Then you still in the game. What do i do if someone is taking too long taking their shot in pool?

no.it is your opponent's turn to shoot.Snooker Loopy any tips on improving my game?
no, you just lose your turn. it's not a scratch as taylor g said. if you had scratched you would have lostWhat's the difference between pool and snooker?
No you don't.assuming you hit the 8 first his turn is next from where the cue ball ended.not a ball in hand foul...might be a situation where you might want to sink his intentionally...lets say that you don't have any shot on the eight and neither does he.for example the 8 is lockup with one of his balls...and he might have one other ball left..you might on purpose want to sink his ball giving him ball in hand so he and not you have to break out the 8 ball...but remember what goes around comes around and he might just give it back to you for a good defensive shot and then you back to him just looking for him to make some error..if at the start of this suggestion you had just "whacked" at the 8 ball with no real pocket to go to.you would probably be racking.at least this way you might get lucky and he be the one "whacking" at his ball...good luck on the tour!! send me my 1%!!Who is pools last yr champion?
