In the games of pocket billiards how do you execute the "body break" without a miscue?
I've heard to power break you must somehow transfer you body weight into the cue to give more mass. As your actual power comes from the equation (Power =Velocity x Mass). This is the professional was to break but I can't seem to put all that momentum into the contemplative pack of balls without miscuing or sending the Cueball off the table. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

One has to hit the cueball hard with a nice, straight stroke. For years now I've been breaking the way Bert Kinister shows on his tapes, and there is no one around my city that can break them harder. Hint: A lot of people lift their hind leg when trying to break hard and that's a waste of energy. I personally use my hind leg to push off of, as a baseball pitcher does. And when you break hard, you need a VERY LARGE FOLLOWTHROUGH. (Often the tip of my cue ends up over where the rack was.) That way you can transfer the maximum energy to the cueball. Also, I rarly jump the cueball. Try hitting close to the center of the cueball.Hi Wizard, I'm afraid there is no easy way to do this except for practise and more practise. The Pros does this practise for almost a year just to Master the arts of breaking so u need to do the same to achieve the same result. I wish there is a better solution i could give you. I have to agree, it only comes with practice. You may want to move the cue ball closer to the middle of the table, kinda like when breaking for nine ball, until you start getting the hang of it.
If you are already doing this or are already playing 9-ball, you might want to move even further to the center of the table.
You transfer the force through you hips. Might want to try using a bit of top English. Should help in keeping the ball on the table.
