I have to say that I'm kind of a purist. Green cloth is used because it replicates the color of the grass on which the game was originally played on. It's also very easy on the eyes when playing for any amount of time. If you want to customize anything, I would suggest you customize your billiard room. There are limitless numbers of pool-related, posters, photos, clocks, wooden signs, lights, cue stands, etc. You could still have your table fixed up: new cloth, new cushions, buff out any dings and scratches, etc. M.D.-BCA Instructor/RefereeOk let be honest this is not really a sport?
This belive it or not is no easy task such as you think that it might be. #1.)Remove the rails and take off the cloth. #2.)Replace the cloth...Now here's where it get's kindda tricky and you might want too look for a reliable professional,for this part!? And ask yourself some questions?? What's the-way you really want it too be when your done?? Are you going for looks??Of going for a level playin' field?? If you re-cloth the table you surley will make it unlevel weather you want too or not,How,do you want too replace the rails.Firm,soft,hard??What about ball return & rest ot the railings?Classic look,modern,high tec??Is the table worth putting more money into?Do you use it a lot,and also plan on keeping it hopefully for generations??When your done will you have the proper place too show it off? Call in the pros. Changing the felt on your table is not easy, and requires several hours/days, because it's not just the felt.They'll disassemble the table, inspect the bumpers and pockets, as well as the ball return rails (if applicable). They also check for levelness (granite slabs) etc to ensure your table performs.
Personal preference: Simonese cloth, very quick and it improves your line and bead. Good luck to you.
