If you scratch the cue ball AFTER pocketing one of your own balls in a called pocket,do you re-spot your ball?

I've never played the game of 8-ball this way, but one of my buddies claims that if you make a called balled into a called pocket, then the cue ball falls into another pocket AFTER, then the original ball must be re-spoted on the dot thing. I think this is false. Isn't it just a loss of a turn? Is there any actual document stating this? If so, please find me the link.

How do you clean billiard balls?

Sorry to dispute what Kandi has to say, but according to BCA Rule 4.16 for 8-ball, "Illegally pocketed balls remain pocketed and are scored in favor of the shooter controlling that specific group of balls, solids or stripes". You are correct. The only time any balls gets spotted in 8-ball is in the event of an 8-ball being pocketed on the break shot. Of course, on a coin-op table balls cannot be spotted. Rule 4.8 for 8-ball states that "...breaker may ask for a rerack or have the 8-ball spotted and continue shooting". Now, if the game being played was 14.1 continuous (straight pool), then illegally pocketed balls do get spotted on the foot spot (Rule 6.8). Kandi may have been referring to Rule 3.32 in the "General Rules of Pocket Billiards" section which states that "When specific game rules call for spotting balls...a single ball is placed on the foot spot...". Straight shooter is correct. In 8-ball an illegally pocketed ball stays down and in 14-1 straight pool, it is re-spotted.

Now, keep in mine there are house rules where as the players agree to the specific rules in advance.

Should I use baby powder to smoothen my cue stick?

Giving my age away here but, back when I started playing pool a lot of places played that way ( house rules ). But with more and more coin op tables popping up that rule kinda faded away for eight ball. Spotting balls made on a foul shot used to be a standard rule for nine ball. But they did away with that rule to speed up the game for television and again, because of all the coin op tables.

How do i text when playin pool?

in 8-balls illegally pocketed balls remain pocketed and you loss a turn and if you scratch the cue ball you give your oponent a "Ball In Hand"
How ever if you have a good shot and you pocketed an oponents ball you just gave your oponent a score and remains your turn.
If you have a bad shot and pocketed you own ball you get the score but you loss a turn
