There are devices on the market that claim to aid in aiming shots in pool. One device is called "The Spider". It uses laser beams and fancy lights to help you "see" where to put the cue ball. I've got one and to tell the truth, it works but it's still a waste of money. All aiming systems are an attempt to place the cue ball where it needs to be at the moment of contact with the object ball. Visualizing the shot will do more for your accuracy than any fancy device. I will say that many times, when players have what they consider to be "aiming problems" it's usually a problem with stroke mechanics. Working on your fundamentals will often help greatly with your aim. You may know exactly where you want your cue ball to go but if your mechanics are bad, your body won't replicate the picture in your head. It has allot to do with the way you stand and hold the stick. I read a book one time and it said to place your back foot directly below your elbow when you are down on your pool stick as close to your chin as possible with arm extended directly backwards and that arm moving at the elbow only. You should have your lead foot pretty much directly below your shoulder when looking down the shaft of the poolstick. It also recommended a closed finger "bridge" using the thumb and pointer fingers rapped around the stick with the other three fingers spread out to steady the hand.
