When playing pool and you have a free table, can you win by playing your opponents ball into the black?
In this case, you only have the black remaining and are snookered on it. Rather than playing your opponents ball out of the way (or even potting it) using the free table rule, if you play a plant with their ball, and their ball then pots the black, is this allowed?

Is there a definite way to sink the 8 ball on the break?
I have lost a lot of respect for the rules of pool. There are too many different types of rules for different pubs. It's impossible nearly to have a friendly game with a stranger in a pub you don't often visit.A lot of friends seem to have their own rules, it's stupid.
I am a very good pool player but stop enjoying the game because I realised that the official rules are NEVER played by anyone. I am the type of player who will be happy to play the opponent's rules - but still they get confused with THEIR rules.
So stick with snooker! It improves your pool, it also only has one rule and you can not get beat by lucky drunk youngsters. Snooker is a man's game. Pool is anyones game from my experience.
To be in a pool team, you're generally like to drink in that pub.
To be in a snooker team, you're generally known to be good!

What happens when the white jumps on the cushion and drops back down onto the table??
I'm not sure what you mean by "free table". When you say "black" are you referring to the 8-ball? If you are asking a snooker question, then I don't know off the top of my head. However if it is an 8-ball (pocket billiards) question, then the answer is simple. You must contact the 8-ball first if that is your last legal object ball on the table. It might be smart strategy in this situation to let your opponent try to shoot at his object ball near the 8-ball and maybe they will pocket the 8-ball out of turn and lose the game. Playing from on top of the cushion?
no you cant in 8 ball..the oblect of the game is to pot the black last,if you plant it in of your opponents ball you have potted the black therefore losing the game...only way you could win in this way if the black is the only ball you have to pot.because of the free table rule you could nominate your opponents ball and technically the ball is now yours so you could use it in a plant.lmao just read the rest of your question the answer is yes so ignore the first part of my answer.you would still win the game even if the planted ball fell into the pocket after the black because the nominated ball was yoursIf i had a free table i would take it home with me.
Who made jimmy white's cue case?
You are not allowed to hit the opponents ball first in any situation.(this includes the free-shot in 9-ball)
If you mean on a coin-operated pub table somewhere in England, then you can do whatever the house rules say you can.

I still have to play house rules occasionally (like that stupid two shot thing) but thankfully never have to play on coin-operated. Even paying for a game has stopped as pubs see the benefits of a full house.
