Since it is an elementary quenstion, I'll give you a detalied answer....
Snooker : A game played on a table (like pool (thats provided you've heard of pool), a bit bigger that a nine ball table and rounded pockets which in any way do not help in the pots) ,,
now the rules and the basics
1> 15 red balls red balls have one point each.
2> 6 colored balls
> yellow (2 points)
> green (3)
> brown (4)
> blue (5)
> pink (6)
> black (7)
3> the cue ball i.e the white that you hit/strike with the cue
after poting every red you are allowed to take a shot at the other coloured balls,
and the time till you are poting, your break continues,
highest break possible is 147 ( thats the perfect break,, which has 15 reds , 15 blacks, and the remining 27 from the coloured balls which are potted in ascending order of points once the red balls have been finished)
for more information on the positioning of balls and the criteria of fouls check out the internet search.

A type of Pool.
I can't open the pool tables,is this for pop up blockers or another reason?
Like pool with different sized balls and no pockets to put 'em in..
Are there any pool instructors in north ala?
Snooker is a game played on a table similar to pool but biggerThe aim is to win enough frames (games/racks) to beat your opponent. To win a frame, you must score enough points to make your opponent concede.
The basic format of play goes as follows. A player must start by potting a red (worth 1 point) and then a 'colour', either yellow (2pts), green (3), brown (4), blue (5), pink (6) or black (7). One a colour is potted, a red is then potted and then a colour. There are 15 reds on th table, once they have been potted, the colours in sequence are potted (Y, G, Br, Blue, Pink, Black).
Safety (preventing you opponent by hiding the cue ball (white) in a position where a player cannot hit / pot the ball he is aiming for.
All breaks start with reds, if a red is potted and he missed a colour, his opponent takes control of the table and must start by potting a red.
Fouls are worth 4 pts to your opponent, unless the foul is on a high value ball.
