In pool trick shots, how do you put a lot of spin on the cue ball to make it curve a lot around balls.?

I was watching some pool trick shots and these people were putting so much spin on the ball and I was wondering how they did that so I could learn how to do that.

Do more inlays on a cue make the cue more back weighted or butt heavy?

the shot is called masse and it is doooooooone by hitting th cue with an elevated cuestick so that the stoke of the tip contacts the cueball more from the top than from the curvature of the ball facing you It is somethng that requires a great deal of practice and is not looked upon kindly in most pool halls as torn felt results many times when people practice this shot get any good book on the "how to" of pool and look up masse'

just work on it and see what happens good luck it is fun when you can get them to gracefully curve around something on the table and help make your game better

The correct shot and technique would be the masse'. Very hard to execute though. Can rip a green or damage cue if not done correctly.
