What should the dimensions of a room be for an 8-foot pool table?
I am buying an 8-foot pool table, and I am not sure yet what room of my house that I want to put it in. Does anyone know what the recommended dimensions of a room should be to allow people enough room to shoot pool?

The minimum room size would be 14' x 18' . This gives you 5 feet of room all the way around the table. That is enough room to shoot with a standard size pool cue. Well, you want to make sure it is comfortable for the players to move the sticks behind them. We had this problem with our first room we put it in, and we ended up having to move it. Try picking each room, and then measuring out the pool table's dimensions in tape on the floor, and then see how it fits with pool sticks at various angles. They have short sticks if there is no way to avoid a wall being in the way, but if you can avoid it that is better. You can also ask the people you buy it from (many will come to set it up for you, and you can ask them for sure). Of course, you can never go wrong choosing the biggest of the rooms.
